Who is Share the Unique?
Hi! I’m Tara and I have a travelling problem….
It doesn’t matter if it is regional, domestic, or international… You name it… And I want to explore it! Enough about my addiction problems though, and let’s get to who I am and why I started Share the Unique.
I was born and raised in regional South Australia in the 1990s. My childhood holidays were spent at our family beach shack 20 minutes down the road or camping with family and friends in the Flinders Ranges.
The desire to travel started at an early age from my grandparents and my mum. They were immigrants from the UK. And so, I grew up listening to their stories and experiences of living there and moving to Australia.
My first overseas trip was to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2006. I was there for one year, living and working in a backpackers/hostel and got absolutely infected by the travel bug! I just couldn’t get enough of the unique people, food, architecture, scenery, music, language, and sports.
Since 2006 I have been coming and going from Australia, living, working, and travelling to over 30 different countries. And the bucket list just keeps getting longer and longer. As the more people I meet, the more stories and experiences I hear about, feeding the desire to continue to explore new destinations.
Share the Unique is about inspiring everyone to explore and to connect through stories and experiences. Whilst sharing the travel knowledge I have learnt over the last 15 years. I hope Share the Unique connects us all and spreads the travel bug far and wide.
